SBX-ChemCarb-KOH-ULTRA-4P
SORBEX ChemCarb-KOH-ULTRA-4P Chemical Impregnated Alumina, Zeolite, Activated Carbon which is an activated carbon-based adsorbent in the shape of 4 mm diameter pellets. The potassium hydroxide (KOH) impregnation makes it particularly suitable for the removal of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and acid gases in general, making it very suitable for deodorization in wastewater treatment and pumping stations. Its use provides a great environmental benefit, due to its balanced formulation with local raw materials and its manufacture with low energy and water consumption processes, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
Target Pollutants:
- Hydrogen sulphide (H2S)
- Acid gases
- Organic sulphides
Specifications
- Surface area: 900 m2/gr
- CTC min: 50
- Shape: pellets 4 mm diameter
- Density: 580 kg/m3 ± 5%
- Humidity: 17% ± 2
- Capacity H2S: up to 25% w/w
Mechanism:
The porous structure, as well as the high specific surface area of activated carbon allows a large amount of pollutant gases to reach the pores, where the acid-base reaction takes place. The process follows the sequence Adsorption – Absorption – Chemical reaction. In this way the pollutants are irreversibly eliminated and transformed into harmless salts that remain in the substrate.
